Welcome to Bexley Archives' Online Catalogues. Our online searchable databases provide access to the archives,
local studies, library and illustrations catalogues. They contain over 300,000 catalogue entries including:
- Picture collection including over 2300 postcards
- London Borough of Bexley historical records including council minutes
- Parish records, including registers
- Bexley schools' archives
- Business records
- Estate papers
- Local studies library book, pamphlet and map collections, including the subject index to local newspapers (1965 – to date)
You can also perform a combined catalogue search of the archives, library and local studies books, newspapers and

Freedom of Information Statement
A small number of records in the catalogue are closed to public access for a defined period because they include sensitive personal data or confidential information. In these instances, the Bexley Local Studies & Archive Centre has given an explicit assurance to the depositor of the records that they will be closed to public access for the specified period. Closed records are identified in the ‘Access Status’ field, and the period of closure is also given in the catalogue entry.
You can make a request for information which may be in a closed record under the Freedom of Information Act, 2000 or the Environmental Information Regulations, 2004. Making a request does not guarantee access to the information you ask for, as there may be a valid exemption from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act.
